Harford County Aegis “Ask A Doctor” – What’s the best brand of hearing aid batteries?

Q: What’s the best brand of hearing aid batteries?

A: I am frequently told by patients that one particular brand of hearing aid batteries lasts longer than any another brand. But the winning brand changes, depending on who’s telling the story. The reality is
that the lifespan of a hearing aid battery is determined mostly by its freshness, as opposed to its brand name. Typically, the expiration date of a hearing aid battery is 4 years from the day it’s manufactured. So if you purchase a pack of batteries that doesn’t expire for another 6 months, it means those batteries have actually been sitting on a shelf for 3.5 years! I may be biased, but I think
the best place in Harford County to purchase hearing aid batteries is from our office. We have a wholesale battery club that dispenses extremely fresh batteries at less than half of the grocery store and
pharmacy prices – about 41 cents per battery. And you don’t have to be a patient of ours to get those prices. Anyone can stop in and “join” the battery club.
